I've had many a blog, but none remain (or rather, they do; hormonal rambles rusting away in a digital wasteland). Being prone to dithering does not make for good blog upkeep. However, recent travels have produced yet another urge to blabber into the void that is the internet.
Now for some bits about me: I was born at the start of the new millennium (the second one); went to law school (joining the league of learned friends); and I go wild for rewilding—even though I often feel like an invasive species myself. I grew up in the tropics but spent most of my childhood staring at concrete walls, which probably explains why my preferred modes of escapism are animation and RPG games with spectacular worldbuilding. I’m a frequent flyer, though my ballooning carbon footprint is starting to do a number on my conscience, and my friends often jibe at how I always take a little piece of the countries that I’ve travelled to back home with me (e.g., a self-glorified takeout menu, an irrational emotional attachment to the cute cashier who was a bit too friendly to me at that one gas station in the middle of nowhere, and of course, pretty rocks).
Presently, I await with bated breath for grad schools to accept me (or reject me—in which case, I’ll simply resign myself to a career of serving coffee), and then hopefully pave a path in ecological justice (make kin, not babies!). I plan to take root elsewhere—ideally somewhere cold, with unfettered access to natural landscapes, living in a house with a yard big enough for a garden and a dog. Thereafter, que sera, sera.
As for this blog, anything (I say so) goes. Expect musings on my studies (currently heavy on eco-marxism, so brace yourself), reflections on my trips abroad, media/food/people reviews, and other assorted mental knick-knacks. Peas!
